Basketball blog

Welcome to the PlayerOps basketball blog

Practical club operations for directors and coaches — not another generic sports blog.

Most youth basketball clubs run on goodwill, group chats, and spreadsheets that only one person understands. That works until tryout week — then everyone discovers the same painful truth at once.

PlayerOps exists because I’ve lived that week from both sides: as a parent chasing schedule changes, and as a volunteer trying to keep promises straight across dozens of families.

What you’ll find here

This blog is for club directors and coaches — the people standing on a court at 7am trying to find a roster on their phone.

When software actually helps

A great product makes the hard weeks easier. I can walk through a tryout flow confident the scores normalize fairly, the offers track deposits, and nothing I promised in a hallway conversation gets lost.

Without that foundation, you’re back to imagination: “picture your roster here” and “we’ll send an email eventually.”
